Come on guys lets build this website!

[edit] Hi! I'd like to help

Hey there, I was a big fan of Tiny Towers and Pocket Planes, and just got my hands on Pocket Trains a few days ago. I've looked around this Wiki and I would like to help out with this. I'm not that great with photo editing software, so getting screenshots of cities and trains may not be my thing, but I think I can definitely help out with the strategy and numbers side of the game. I'd love if someone could reply and let me know how to get started! Thanks! --Adidas (talk) 19:43, 28 September 2013 (PDT)

I have a background in documentation and training and would love to help with the Pocket Trains wiki. I'm new to editing & being involved on wiki, so please bear with me. I'd like to see a Licenses page that then links to the specific regions where the cities are listed. Other topics that could be addressed on the tutorial page: crafting and adding a fuel car, swapping engines on a line and scrapping a line. Looking forward to,helping out. [edit] Job colors

A page describing what the colors of the job text means would be helpful. The colored city names are easy to figure out, but i dont know the significance of the different colors of the job descriptions. Sometimes they are grey (low value i'm guessing), sometime they are green with the Bucks payment. The ones that are blue are for an event. Seems like grey means the city is on a separate railroad and requires a transfer, while blue is for the daily event. --Adidas (talk) 11:51, 29 September 2013 (PDT)

4-Coin (and most valuable) jobs will be colored white, 3-2-1 coin will be colored three progressively darker shades of gray. Same goes for bux jobs, brighter green for 4-bux-per-car jobs, darker and darker for jobs with lower value. If a job is destined to a city on the same railroad, the city name will be colored the same. A light blue job is related to the daily event. –-Guineapiglet (talk) 05:23, 4 October 2013 (PDT) 13:01, 30 September 2013 (PDT)

[edit] Bolded Cities

I've been wondering why sometimes some cities show bigger on the map than others. I know that thicker tracks mean a train is scheduled to use that track, but I haven't seen any patterns with the cities. I was thinking about Pocket planes, and how some cities are bigger and thus better, but then I noticed that the bolded stations in Pocket Trains are different from time to time. Does anyone know what the bigger cities mean? And what page would be a good place to put that, for others who have the same question?

Pretty sure the bigger dots mean there is something laid over there. --Adidas (talk) 21:45, 2 October 2013 (PDT)
Yes I can confirm that when stock is laid over in a city, the city dot appears bigger --Vinzz zzz (talk) 13:52, 3 October 2013 (EST)

The dot also appears to get larger when the station is upgraded to hold move layovers.. Nalazoo (talk) 20:11, 3 October 2013 (PDT)

[edit] Image of Continent Maps & World Map

It would be great to add a section showing the continental / world city layout. In order to avoid influencing other players' track layouts, the snapshots should be taken with owned tracks all tinted the same color. I've completed Europe and moving into Asia, so I still have far to go until a full picture is ready...

Great idea. I could help with Photoshop-ing a full world map once we get enough bits and pieces. --Adidas (talk) 14:33, 3 October 2013 (PDT)
A map would be ideal to plan aheda on network expansion. Do you think we should create a page, so people could see it and contribute? I think that iPad screenshots would be better, I would take them myself, but my first gen iPad doesn't support iOS 6... --Guineapiglet (talk) 05:23, 4 October 2013 (PDT)

Check out the map that appears in this forum page: ( The image would need a bit of extra Photoshop work to clean up the white spaces (which I wouldn't mind to do). I'll contact "Cretpetpet" to see if he's willing to share!

I just finished assembling a more complete one myself. I cut off the top of the world a bit to keep the file from being too big. The file size may still be an issue as the thumbnail generation isn't working. World Map --Martica (talk) 2JSP 23:18, 4 October 2013 (PDT)
Aha. I got it to work properly at half resolution. The full size 8192x4096 pixel image is still available in the file history if anyone wants to play with it. --Martica (talk) 2JSP 23:25, 4 October 2013 (PDT)
That is amazing quality Martica, props. Do you by chance have the full version without the cut off top lying somewhere on your computer? It would make a great wallpaper haha.--Adidas (talk), CSTD 16:12, 5 October 2013 (PDT
I do. My building was evacuated due to a major fire this morning that destroyed over 20% of the building, so I'm not able to access it at the moment. Maybe tomorrow. --Martica (talk) 2JSP 16:34, 5 October 2013 (PDT)
Sorry to hear that, hope everything is fine with you and your family. --Adidas (talk), CSTD 18:14, 5 October 2013 (PDT)

Hi. I am loving pocket trains on my iPhone. It is linked with my game centre account. When I try to open it on my iPad with the same game centre account it does not resume where I am up to like other games. It wants to start a completely new game. Very frustrating!!

Im a noob to this site and im wondering how you message people about their parts on the trading thread :/
